The Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy is a professional association founded in 1995 by Drs. Richard Pitcairn, Christina Chambreau and Jana Rygas. It is for licensed veterinarians who use homeopathy in their practices. Many members have been trained by Dr. Pitcairn. The AVH provides information on training, an annual conference, a mentor program for veterinarians presently in training and a journal for members.You can find a list of veterinarians to consult for homeopathic care through the web site for AVH.

The National Center for Homeopathy is an organization that supports the practice of homeopathy for both people and animals. They have an annual conference, summer classes in homeopathy, a referral service and a monthly journal. To find a practitioner in your area, search their directory.

The American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association promotes various forms of alternative practice, overlapping with homeopathy, chiropractic and acupuncture but emphasizing a more eclectic approach including use of herbs, nutrition, neutroceuticals, ayurvedic medicine along with allopathic medicine.

The National Vaccine Information Center is a wonderful resource for vaccine information. Started by two mothers whose children were injured by vaccines, it is an up to date wealth of information. Barbara Fishers' book "A Shot In The Dark" is a "must read" for those concerned about the effects of the DPT vaccine on their children's health.
